Why do you Self-Medicate My brothers and Sisters?

Many Nigerians in Nigeria self-medicate when they fall sick instead of consulting a doctor. They will either go to a local chemist to buy drugs.Some use left over of his or her brother or sisters drug which are leftovers of a previous illness. Most of the time nothing happens but it is very dangerous. Self-medication occurs because these drugs are freely available such as pain relievers or analgesics. People treat malaria at home when some don't know its typhoid because the symptoms are almost similar.That's how they kill themselves .Also cough drugs are also misused especially when an average nigerian suspects or has cough. These young child whom  i knew died of overdose of drugs pumped into his system by his parents. He would have survived he was taken to an hospital.  Dont Self-Medicate it dangerous in a long run. Always consult a doctor.
