Causes and Solutions of Emotional hunger

Common causes of Emotional Hunger

- Stress : Do you know that stress can make you hungry. Have you ever noticed ? When stress is high, it stimulates production of high level of stress hormone Cortisol. Cortisol triggers the crave for  salty, sweet and high foods. The more uncontrolled stress in your life, the more you are likely to turn food for emotional relief. Pattern your stress life so it does not weigh you down.
-  Stuffing emotions : Uncomfortable emotions including fear, anger, sadness, loneliness can trigger your emotional hunger. Avoid stuffing emotions.
-  Social influences :  It is easy to overindulge because food is available or even because everyone is eating. One may overeat in social situations out of nervousness. Watch it when you are in social gatherings  that you do not overeat .
- Child hood habits :  Habits from childhood into adulthood  example excessive eating of chocolates, taking of ice creams after school even when not hungry and so on can also trigger emotional eating when one is grown and most times, it is difficult to stop.

Solutions to curb Emotional Eating
 - Carry out daily exercise  : it can do wonders to your mood and a powerful stress reducer
 - Make time for Relaxation : At least 30minutes everyday to relax and unwind is not bad.
- Connect with others : Do not underestimate the importance of close relationships. Spending time with positive people helps your stress life
