Global Menstrual Health Hygiene Day

Today is World global Menstrual Health Hygiene Day. Much was said on the need for proper disposal of menstrual wastes which has become a source of concern to the environment. Its toxicity and vulnerability has called for this movement. As a young lady/woman it is essential to properly dispose of your menstrual waste and not dump them into drainages or drop them by the road side. Proper disposal will in a long run prevent diseases in the society.

The Value of Life

I ask myself how much is life worth? That a normal human being wakes up in the morning prays to God and somewhere along the line gets a phone call that his or her account has been credited and there is an  order to go take someone's life. These people that commit such grievious atrocities against mankind are they not humans themselves ?Then, it baffles me when I see scenarios where the killer doesn't want to get killed. Osama bin laden the man who terrorized the world with the way he carried out fatal strikes had to hide for years before he was killed. The killer wants to kill yet he will do everything possible to save himself or herself. Irrational things and behaviors occur and one begins to wonder if people before perpetrating such abnormal acts are in their right senses. I doubt if they are sane at that period of committing such grievious acts. If not, why will a mob burn alive an 11 year old boy alive accused of trying to kidnap a 5 year old boy without proper investigation even after the boy cried out he was Innocent. I saw the Video. The life of that boy who could turn out to be the next Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria was wasted. Funny enough, the same people started lamenting at that same place that they could have spared the boy #MedicineAfterDeath
Everyday news of neighbour stabs landlord, son mutilates father makes headlines of newspapers on a weekly basis.Trust, people will eagerly buy such newspapers because bad news spreads faster.  People act abnormally and commit heinious crimes. Guess what, they will always blame the Devil. God has given us the spirit of discernment to do and know what is right. So why will you do what is wrong when you know it is wrong ? That is outright stupidity. Why will a sane human take another's life and not value it. These are critical questions we should ask ourselves. Pereira Mandela Bankoles Value of Life definition simply states " Dont do unto others what you cannot do to yourself."
One big question that comes to mind is Psychiatric Assessment. Many people will abuse and condemn it because in this part of the world, people read meanings to little things especially if one visits a psychiatric doctor. Then, everybody in the neighborhood will know he/she went to a psychiatric hospital and was even admitted "exxageration". In actual sense, we all need Psychiatric assessment to know the status of our mental health. These can help correct and change anomalous behaviors that has been inculcated into lives of people passively and actively.  The value of life transcends love for our siblings or parents because when you are on a boat and it capsizes, you try to save yourself before thinking of saving your loved ones. What does it depict ? You value your Life and don't want to loose it.
Taking laws into our hands and doing the irreversible goes beyond the human eye. If one think one can do bad things and go scot-free, its a lie. Nemesis will always catch up with them. The bible says I shall visit the sins of the father unto the third and fourth generation. The value of life cannot be over emphasized. Dont do unto others what you cannot do to yourself. If you Value your Life, you will not take anothers life. Don't take laws into your hands and don't join others. Advocate for justice  and give peace a chance to reign.

Ladies what do you know about your August Visitor

My August Visitor Is Here…Again!

Menstruation gets dubbed some pretty creative monikers. You may choose an alternative name to save your coworkers or your spouse embarrassment without meaning to come up with such hilarious code names. What are the most popular in Nigeria? Among them are "My August Visitor, " Killing Chicken", “In My Holies” and of course TTOM (or that time of the month),

Some of the more creative entries on this list include “giving birth to a blood diamond,” “having your garage painted,” and “the tomato soup is on the boil.” Some of the zaniest euphemisms draw on popular culture; for example, “Kelly Kapowski can’t make it to cheerleading practice” and Of course, you could just “order your clams with red sauce” or “smoke a lady cigar” to get your point across.

There Are Plenty of Eggs in Your Basket

When it comes to counting the eggs in your proverbial basket—believe me, you are born with more than you’ll need. The average female is born with roughly 2 million eggs at her disposal. By the time she hits puberty, that number decreases to around 40,000. The rate at which women lose eggs depends on many different factors, primarily age and overall reproductive health.

One of the most interesting aspects of the egg production cycle plays out before a girl is even born. During the fetal stage, when a baby girl is still in utero, she may have as many as 7 million eggs in her body, a number which will decline by about two-thirds by the time she is born. However, since most women release only 400 to 500 eggs in a lifetime, there’s never any reason to fear you’ll suffer a shortage.

You’re Sexier When You Ovulate

True fact: men find ovulating women more attractive! One study from the Psychological Science journal discovered that men’s testosterone levels soared when they caught a whiff of clothing worn by ovulating women. Conversely, men experienced lower levels of testosterone production when sniffing the clothes of non-ovulating women. This suggests a male biological urge to mate with women when they are at their most fertile.

Fortunately for the propagation of the human species, this principle works both ways. Anecdotal evidence suggests that women are more in the mood to do the deed when they’re ovulating, and science has even chimed in its support for that widely held opinion. Studies have shown that women in committed, happy relationships are more likely to wear revealing clothing and flirt with other men during ovulation. What’s more is that a woman’s libido intensifies during ovulation as she approaches her sexual peak between age 30 and 35.

How Much Blood?

During the average period duration, a woman will commonly emit 2 to 4 tablespoons of blood in total. While it may seem like much more due to water retention, most women do not actually suffer excess loss of blood because of “heavy flow.” However, during a so-called “heavy period,” a woman may lose twice as much blood as she normally would, though even very heavy menstrual bleeding does not normally pose a serious health risk.

Signs of a heavy period include using abnormally high numbers of pads or tampons, or the need to pair both types of protection together to prevent flooding to clothes or bed sheets. In the majority of cases, there is no identifiable underlying cause for a heavy period, though there are correlations with certain factors. Uterine fibroids, blood-thinning medications, ovary cysts and the use of intrauterine contraception can all increase menstrual blood flow. Orally administered emergency contraception also tends to cause heavier periods, which may last for several months

Period Irregularity

Just as various factors cause the onset of menstruation, period regularity can be different for every woman, and it can fluctuate at various points in life. Irregular menstruation can result in spotting, a late period, an unusually long or heavy period, or missing a period altogether. And it can be spurred by everything from stress and diet to sudden, significant changes in weight or taking certain medications. In particular, researchers have linked anti-epileptic drugs and anti-psychotics to irregular periods. High levels of stress, eating disorders, and benign or malignant tumors can also cause symptoms.

According to the National Institutes of Health, menstrual irregularities can be triggered by medical conditions including poorly controlled diabetes, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, polycystic ovary syndrome, and high levels of prolactin in the bloodstream. Periods also tend to be more irregular during adolescence, pregnancy, and during perimenopause — the unique state a woman enters as she approaches menopause.

Why think or Commit Suicide

I find it hard to believe that people can actually kill themselves because they think they have gotten to the peak of frustration in life. Its so appalling because it has created a negative trend in the minds of the younger generation.  People commit suicide for love, money, family and so on. I am sorry to say this People who commit suicide are Stupid and Ignorant of the fact that When There is Life,  there is hope. I dont want to write a long piece here. If you are reading these piece and you are  attempting  to commit suicide I Beg You S T O P I T. Sorrow may last for a night But Joy cometh in the morning. Have that in mind. It Is Well With Your Soul.
